Noemí Iglesias

Noemí Iglesias (Asturias 1987), is an artist who defines herself working with sculptural media and long-term performance formats, is a clear example of contemporary nomadism: since 2009 Noemí has lived and worked in Greece, England, Finland, Italy and Hungary.

Noemí Iglesias (Asturias 1987), is an artist who defines herself working with sculptural media and long-term performance formats, is a clear example of contemporary nomadism: since 2009 Noemí has lived and worked in Greece, England, Finland, Italy and Hungary.

Her work represents the current commodification of infatuation and how emotional patterns are socially assumed as icons of consumption in the production of a romantic utopia, where sentimental experiences are presented through products manufactured by specific industries, transforming emotional patterns into consumer strategies.

In 2019, she received a Master’s degree in Porcelain from the Tainan National University of the Arts where she studied contemporary ceramic practices thanks to the ROC Taiwan Grant from the Taiwanese Government.

Recently, her work has been seen at the Gimhae Clayarch Museum of Korea, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Yingge Ceramics Museum in Taipei, the Ceramic Museum of Alcora, the Vendrell Ceramic Biennial, the CERCO International Ceramic Competition, the Mumu gallery in Taiwan, and soon at the JustMad Fair in Madrid with Espacio Líquido and the Shanghai Academy of Arts and Design where she will attend as a guest artist.

Noemí is currently doing a residency at the Porcelana Vista Alegre factory in Portugal, where she designs a line of functional products for the brand.
