Brisa Noronha

This week in our virtual museum MIAanywhere we can find the work of Brisa Noronha, who is a Brazilian sculptor from Belo Horizonte. She currently resides in São Paulo, where she works and participates in the support group for the Hermes Artes Visuais project, led by artists Nino Cais, Marcelo Amorim and Carla Chaim.

Her sophisticated work focuses on the empirical exercise of doing, which finds its fault in organizing the result of his efforts.

BRISA NORONHA, “Estructuras para receber” (2019), ‘Esculturas imaginadas’ serie, ceramics. 250 x 400 x 50 cm.

Stacked, displayed side by side, organized by size, by affinities or unconscious decisions of the artist, these objects focus our attention on their physical qualities, their translucency, their roughness or lack of execution and the non-spectator process of a silent contemplation process.

BRISA NORONHA, “Minúcias” (2015), porcelain, 40 x 200 x 200 cm.
BRISA NORONHA, “Dormentes” (2017), Registration of site specific installation carried out in Hamenkyro, Finland, 250 x 400 x 50 cm.
