A Talk on Equality in the Art World
Art Rotterdam became the stage for an important and necessary conversation. Our Director, Alejandra Castro Rioseco, took part in a panel discussion at Art Rotterdam addressing an ongoing reality that the art world cannot afford to ignore: the slow and uneven progress toward gender equality in the arts.
MIA Art Collection is proud to announce the formalization of an expanded institutional collaboration with the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA), reinforcing its position as an international platform of reference for art by women.
Another important milestone for MIA Art Collection took place in Belgium, where the organization participated in the Art Antwerp talk program. The event, titled “Culture Knows Best,” was held before a full auditorium and sparked a vibrant exchange around collecting, cultural commitment, and the role of art today.
On Thursday, 27 November, the MIA Residency project was officially launched at the Belgian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The inaugural ceremony was graciously hosted by the Belgian Ambassador to the UAE and marked an important milestone for the project’s international development.
As the year draws to an end, MIA Art Collection proudly announces the launch of MIA Residency, a new international program that will open its doors in Antwerp, Belgium.

A Journey Through Art in Japan
Thanks to the incredible Sharjah team, we embarked on a beautiful journey that took us first to the Aichi Triennale in Nagoya, guided by the artistic director Hoor Al Qasimi. At “Between Ashes and Roses,” we encountered powerful artistic visions that revealed how art can question, rebuild and illuminate the world around us.
During our recent trip to Florence, MIA Art Collection reaffirmed its commitment to advancing equality in the arts while participating in the XV Florence Biennale.
