Route of the Invisibles‘A Journey of Transformation’

Under the visionary direction of cultural advocate Alejandra Castro Rioseco, the MIA Art Collection is proud to present Route of the Invisibles, a profound exhibition that brings visibility to emerging women artists living in the UAE who have yet to receive gallery representation. This unique, one-night-only event will take place on April 21st, 2025 at 20:00 hrs at The Gate – West Lobby, DIFC, in Dubai.
More than an exhibition, Route of the Invisibles is a reclamation of space, a transformation, and an awakening of long-overlooked brilliance. The project reflects on the intimate relationship between the female body, lived experience, and artistic expression. Through distinct and immersive visual narratives, four women artists—Stefania Nazzal, Rima Moukahal, Farnaz Farid, and Kasia Dzikowska—unveil deeply personal journeys that speak through texture, movement, and form.
Each artist is given her own space within the exhibition, celebrating individuality while contributing to a collective story of transformation, resilience, and renewal. This initiative is part of MIA Art Collection’s global mission to elevate the voices of women in the arts and provide tangible opportunities for visibility and growth.
Swiss-born Stefania Nazzal, based in Dubai, creates luminous mixed-media works that explore the paradoxes of light and time, shaped by her training at Central Saint Martins and exhibitions across Europe and the U.S. Rima Moukahal, a Lebanese abstract expressionist, transforms emotional memory into layered canvases, reconnecting with her art after decades marked by civil war and a corporate career. Iranian-born Farnaz Farid, a self-taught artist and ceramist, channels the poetic spirituality of Rumi into sculptural works that blend scientific knowledge with soulful abstraction. And finally, Kasia Dzikowska, a Polish artist and professor based in Abu Dhabi, reflects on identity, belonging, and the transient nature of space through meditative installations that merge painting, digital graphics, and mixed media. Together, their practices embody themes of metamorphosis, emotional endurance, and the timeless power of creative expression.
Each artist is given her own space within the venue, highlighting their distinct voices while contributing to a collective message of resilience and renewal.
Route of the Invisibles is a celebration of the unseen, of women who have waited in silence, and of the moment they step into the light.
