MIA Art Collection is a leading philanthropic international not-for-profit art collection that unites and su-pports female artists and their practice. It promotes female artist’s visibility across borders, and with art as the catalyst to achieve a society of gender equality, reaching almost 33 countries with over 900 works of art, the philanthropic nature of this collection has achieved recognition for the work it has executed for over a decade.

MOLAA – Museum of Latin American Art (California, USA) is the only museum in the United States de-dicated to modern and contemporary Latin American and Latino art, and holds one of the most unique collections dedicated to artists from Latin America and its diaspora.

In the exhibition these two collections meet. “Her Land” blends historical pieces by international Latin American female artists from MOLAA’s museum collection with art works from the MIA Art Collection, creating a unique dialogue between artists from different generations and positions. This exhibition expands the museums walls, by transporting it to a region it has never been, and to encounter eyes of new spectators. Through this MOLAA and MIA Art Collection explores the concept of a museum-in-mo-vement and suggests this also as a  symbol of the mobility and flexibility of women in the art world, and as a bridge between cultures and traditions that has historically been connected.

This is the first exhibition by MIA ART Collection in collaboration with FESTIVAL CITY DUBAI, bringing an engaging experience that aims to promote artistic dialogue across borders and to give back to the community and last, but not least, to introduce MOLAA and this one of a kind event, to Dubai, the city selected by MIA for its eclecticism, international footprint and character, and that today holds a strong position as hub in this thriving region of the world.
