On Thursday, 27 November, the MIA Residency project was officially launched at the Belgian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The inaugural ceremony was graciously hosted by the Belgian Ambassador to the UAE and marked an important milestone for the project’s international development.
The event brought together ambassadors and official representatives from numerous diplomatic missions, including Lebanon, Uruguay, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, and Bangladesh, among others. Their presence underscored the strong spirit of cultural exchange and international collaboration that the MIA Residency seeks to foster.
The launch was made possible thanks to the generous support and involvement of the Belgian Embassy in the UAE, the Belgian Business Council Dubai, Flanders Investment & Trade, the City of Antwerp, Art Brussels, and the City of Antwerp’s cultural partners. This inaugural moment reflects a shared commitment to supporting artistic research, education, and cross-cultural dialogue on an international scale.
