MIA Art Collection, in collaboration with DIFC Dubai and under the auspices of Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Abu Dhabi, brings “LAVINIA: In the Footsteps of a Female Italian Iconic Artist”, an exceptional exhibition curated by a team of international curators directed by Alejandra Castro Rioseco with special co-curator Mr. Matteo SORMANI, that brings never seen artworks to Dubai, a privilege to the eye of the art lover and enthusiast, in the imponent DIFC The Gate as background, during Art Dubai.

The exhibition transports us to the baroque period in 16th century Italy, or late mannerism, with works exclusively by women artists, and is centered around an exclusive artwork of that period by the famous and iconic artist Lavinia Fontana, one of the most renowned women artists in history.

This is a captivating exhibition of female artistic voices, inspired by the fundamental reality that one of the most famous artists of the time was a woman, named Lavinia Fontana. She produced over 125 artworks of which only 34 are recovered with her original signature. Lavinia Fontana is a true icon of the arts and her works have been exhibited in the most important museums in the world. Her work is now brought for the first time to Dubai by MIA ART Collection and will be exhibited in the DIFC, The Gate.

On March 10^th at the MIA Art Collection Gala Dinner & Awards, in collaboration with BULGARI, ten personalities received the prestigious MIA Award as a recognition for their distinguished effort in supporting women visibility in the world of art.

PRESENT ITS ART EXHIBITION ‘.SERENDIPITY’

AT THE AL SAFA DESIGN & ARTS LIBRARY CENTER

Serendipity or “the magic of finding something while looking for something else”, a simple and wonderful word that has its origin in the Arabic vocabulary, opens our eyes away from an immediate reality to a possible dream still concealed.

MIA Art Collection, private art collection founded by philanthropist Alejandra Castro Rioseco launched its virtual museum on 2020 called MIA Anywhere, where it has showcased the work of more than 100 women artists from all over the world during the pandemic. Now, we present its second collaboration with BLOC Art Perú, a collection of Latin American Art founded by Brenda Ortiz Clarke.

The MIA Art Collection, whose founder and director is the civil engineer, philanthropist and patron Alejandra Castro Rioseco has organized a series of activities that can be enjoyed in the week ARCO in Madrid, complementing it with participation in the contemporary art fair JUSTMAD and in Matadero Madrid Centro de Creación Contemporánea.

MIA Art Collection presents its new virtual exhibition within its MIA Anywhere Virtual Museum, “La contemplación femenina”, exhibiting for everyone the oil work of the Chilean painter Christel Vega Miranda.

The reflection of the feminine interior life, and the activity of contemplative critical thought of human existence is what best defines and reflects the pictorial work of Christel Vega Miranda.
